PHILADELPHIA - Maryland set a school record to finish second in the women's 4x800 relay on Saturday at the Penn Relays track and field meet. Ashley Cromartie, Taylor Bumpas, Ariana Tabatabaie and Julie Sinkovitz went 8:51.59 to place second among 26 teams in the college division event.
Stony Brook edged the Terrapins in the race by finishing at 8:51.53. The previous best on record by a Maryland women's squad was 8:54.45 at the 2008 Penn Relays.

Maryland will compete next on Thursday evening when it hosts the Kehoe Twilight Meet in College Park. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
