COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior Ally Krikorian placed second in all-around with a career-high 38.800 and the No. 23 Terps won three-of-four events as the Maryland gymnastics team (3-2, 1-1 EAGL) scored 193.950 points to defeat Bridgeport (192.600) and Alaska (185.900) Friday night at Comcast Center.

The meet was highlighted by Krikorian's performance in the all-around and freshman Stephanie Giameo's performances on the beam and floor. Krikorian finished first on vault and tied for first on floor with sophomore Katy Dodds, while Giameo won on beam for her first individual title of her career.

""We had a lot of adversity this week," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "We had an illness and a couple of girls out with injury. I was really impressed with the way the team stepped up and took it upon themselves to ensure a great team performance."

Maryland turned in a strong team effort on the floor to close the meet with several regulars out due to injury. Giameo set the tone with a career-high 9.800, but Krikorian and Dodds would not be outdone. Both Dodds and Krikorian scored 9.850 to tie career highs as the Terps swept the medal stand.

"Floor was one of the areas where we were missing people. We knew Katy, Kesley, Ally and Stephanie really had to step up, and they came through for us," said Nelligan.

The meet opened with the Terps on vault. Junior Kesley Cofsky led off with a 9.725. Dodds and Krikorian closed the rotation with a 9.800 and 9.825, respectively, as the Terrapin duo won first and second place.

On bars, sophomore Jessie Black was the Terps' top performer with a career-high 9.775 to place second. Maryland turned in a complete team effort on the apparatus scoring 48.650, its second-highest total of the season, as every Terrapin performer scored a 9.600 or better. Four Terps scored a 9.725 or higher.

On beam, Giameo and junior Briana Melander took first and second. Giameo scored a career-high 9.750 while Melander finished with a 9.725.

The Terps travel to Gainesville, Fla., Friday to take on third-ranked Arkansas and eighth-ranked Florida at 7 p.m.
