Mitchell Named ACC Rookie of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Charles Mitchell was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for his performance in Maryland's win over Delaware State last Saturday, the league announced Monday.
Mitchell led Maryland to its 11th straight victory by coming off the bench and setting season highs with 19 points and 14 rebounds in a 79-50 win over Delaware State.
The Marietta, Ga., freshman connected on 8-of-12 field goals, while seven of his 14 boards were on the offensive end. Mitchell, who ranks first among ACC freshmen with 6.9 rebounds per game, recorded a double-double for the third time this season.
Mitchell also had one block and helped the Terps amass a 58-20 advantage in points in the paint.
