Opening statement:
"I was extremely pleased obviously with our effort tonight. We practiced well the last couple days and it showed. I thought our scout team did a great job preparing us - they're hard to guard. And we did a great job defensively for the most part. I thought we fouled a little bit too much. We really played well in stretches and we were our usual self in other stretches where we let teams back in it. This game had me worried all day and I can't be more pleased with my guys and their effort.
"I talked about two things: we talked about discipline on defense and we talked about being together. I don't like the way we acted at Duke; I don't like the way we acted after Duke; and we just talked about being a team and being a family and being together and doing it for your teammates. I thought we did that. We shared the ball better than we've shared it all year. We executed well. James Padgett was great in the second half when we were struggling. Our rebounding was great. I'm really pleased with the guys."
On Nick Faust's play at point guard:
"I think he's a lot better today than he was when we started way back when Pe'Shon [Howard] got hurt the first time. I just thought he was great defensively. I thought he got us into our stuff pretty well. I thought he got a little dribble happy in the second half. But the thing is Nick is going to do what I ask him to do and that's nice. We're figuring it out. Sometimes Terrell [Stoglin] has it and sometimes Nick has it, and it's going to take us a little bit more time. I thought Nick was great except for the turnovers and the charges--he shouldn't have been doing that--and then he just dribbled out of bounds one time. He tries to do too much. I think we'll watch film of him from tonight and when we're on the bus tomorrow going to Virginia and I think he'll learn when to give it up a little bit sooner."
On the play of Terrell Stoglin:
"I thought he was good. Terrell [Stoglin] made his first one and we had great matchups. Give our guys credit, we ran about two or three plays in a row for him and he buried everyone of him. Our guys screened for him and got him looks and it makes my job a lot easier when Terrell hits his first shot. If he can get his points early, then he's not searching for them the whole game. So he got them early tonight. And I thought in the second half he really deferred and just tried to help us win the game. I can't believe how well he's guarding. He's just giving effort and trying to do everything I say."
On Mychal Parker's improved play of late:
"Mike played well at Duke and he played well today. He made a couple mistakes defensively, but for the most part he was really good. I thought Mike had great minutes. I bragged about him during timeouts and I bragged about him after the game. I thought Mike was great. Mike's going to have to be a big part of what we do here down the stretch and he knows it."
On the win:
"Today everyone was just playing off each other. I got my 3 going early, then everyone got their 3s going and we started going inside. We played together as a team and it was a good win."
On his play:
"I was feeling really good. I was just telling myself before the game I didn't want to miss today because of the Duke game. I feel that I shot really well, and I just wanted to make shots today."
On the offense:
"We've just been working on our offense. Coach has just been talking about executing, and we felt like we did that pretty well today."
On Coach Mark Turgeon's message of being tougher:
"Coach said it's the start of a new season and we don't want it to end when the ACC Tournament is over. We've got to be tough. There's not a lot of basketball left to be played, so you don't want to end your season like that. So get tough, play as hard as you can and go have an aggressive end to the season."
On playing without guard Pe'Shon Howard:
"We played without Pe'Shon before, so we had to go back and get in the flow of that. We got a lot better in the last two days when we had to learn to play without Pe'Shon again. I think the team is pretty comfortable. I know Nick [Faust] is not a natural point guard, but he's going to have to play a lot for us. Terrell [Stoglin] is going to have to play a lot for us. They know going into the games they're going to have to do that, so we should be good with that."
On his play:
"In the beginning of the season I was a little shaky, but now I think I've got a lot of confidence. Everything's starting to flow really well better for me."
On the offense:
"Every day we try to bring it and get better as a team. The loss of Pe'Shon [Howard], that really hurt us. We had a team meeting, got together and said, `We can either make this season better or worse.' We're just trying to grind hard every day and do whatever we can to get the win."
On playing point guard:
"I would say the experience in the beginning of the season definitely helped me, but now I don't really have a choice. It's either you ball or you don't."

BC Coach Steve Donahue
Opening statement:
"I think that we lost the game in the first eight minutes of the game. They really played well at the start. We turned the ball over at the start as well. They just came out and played great though. After the first eight minutes it was pretty much an even game."
On Maryland's perimeter game:
"I think that [Terrell] Stoglin can really play. He had five of their eight [threes]. [Sean] Mosley was one-for-three and [Nick] Faust was one-for-four. That is why Stoglin is dangerous; he can get hot. He got in a rhythm. We allowed him to get a couple of catch and shoots and that is the best thing that the kid can do. Give them credit they came out and delivered the punch. We are a young team and we got out played in the first eight minutes, but after that I thought it was an even game."
On switching defenses:
"We started man-to-man. About the 14 minute mark I switched it up to zone. They were carving us up and hitting shots. Switching it up worked for a little while, but then they hit a couple of threes and got hot"
On what he took from the game:
"We have been playing very well for the last two months and really competing. For the first time in a while we didn't compete as well as we have been. There were some 50/50 balls that went their way. We just didn't have a good body language going. We didn't play the way that we have for the last couple of months."
On what the difference in the game was:
"To our guys credit we competed and worked hard. We missed a ton of shots though. We had shots at the rim that we usually make and just couldn't get them to go."
On Dennis Clifford:
"I think that Dennis has had a great year. He has done some great things. I am amazed that he is competing at this level with his size. When he gets bigger and stronger people are going to pay for that. He is playing very hard. As his strength and experience catch up to him he will be good. He was an inch away on five or six shots; if they go then he had a great game. He played well in the beginning of the season and was freshman of the week, but you hit a couple of pumps in the road when you are a freshman going against older guys."
BC Freshman Forward Ryan Anderson
On the early turnovers:
"I think it was just us not being mentally ready for the game. It wasn't too much what they did, but just a lack of execution on our part."
On if he was surprised on what Maryland was able to do:
"They made a lot of big shots and some guys made some really big plays for them. We just didn't execute during that stretch when they were making shots and we just weren't playing well offensively."
On Terrell Stoglin's performance:
"He's a big shot maker for them. He takes and makes hard shots, and bad shots for most people are good shots for him. He got hot early and it was tough to guard him."
On what Boston College could have done better:
"I think the basis for the game was just us not coming out ready to play. They took a huge lead on us in the beginning and from that point on we played better basketball the last 30 minutes of the game; the first 10 [minutes] just made too big of a deficit for us."
BC Freshman Guard Jordan Daniels
On Maryland's three-point shooting stretch:
"We were trying to keep each other in it, just tell each other to stick it out. [We were] just trying to keep each other together."
On guarding Terrell Stoglin during his scoring stretch:
"He's a great player. When he's hitting like that, there's not a lot you can do. I did what I could, but he was hitting his shots."
On what stands out about Stoglin:
"His confidence and [he's got] a swagger to him. He comes out with good confidence and has a really quick step. You have to mind that, but he can still pull it from behind the arc."
