On whether he thought this would ever happen:
"No, honestly, 31 years is a long time and I've been through a lot in my personal life. A lot has changed, and a lot has not. Still feels good to be home, finally."

On how he felt seeing his jersey in the rafters:
"I had a lot of mixed emotions. There was a lot leading up to it, and it was just beautiful to see Graham-25 finally. I don't always know if I deserve the grace God's given me, but I do appreciate and I am very thankful. I believe if they had done this 30 years ago I wouldn't appreciate as much as I do now."

On how he felt having so many luminaries from Baltimore:
"It means the world and more than basketball, the reason that a lot of those people are here is because of the work I do with the youth in the Baltimore area. I'm grateful that they appreciate the work that I'm doing and it strengthens my spirit and makes me want to continue the good work I am doing."

On his record-setting game (44 points vs. NC State, 12/20/1978):
"That's the only game I ever played out here (laughing). It was so long ago, and people only talk about the one game. At times when people have gotten close, like Vasquez, to breaking the record, it almost feels like you will be wiped away and you will no longer exist because that was all I had to hold onto. People don't realize when I left 31 years ago, I was in the top five of the rebounds, assists, steals and points. The one game was what stood out in the minds of a lot of people. It's really nice to be remembered for anything good."

On what it feels like to be a part of the Maryland basketball legacy:
"The reception that I received did my heart well. It's going to take a little while for this to soak in. It's just an honor and a privilege to be a part of this. 31 years later, you can't process that in a moment, but I plan on writing a book and I needed a terrific ending to the third quarter. So this is a terrific ending to the third quarter of my life."
