
400 Medley Relay Lifts Terps Friday

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Maryland registered a fifth place finish in the 400 medley relay as the Terps concluded day three of the ACC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Friday.
The team of Matt Meserole, Anderson Sloan, Jeff Winters and Charlie Rommel tallied a season-best NCAA B-cut mark of 3:15.16 to give the Terps' their top showing in the meet thus far.
Sophomore John Hauser took eighth in the A-final to lead Maryland in the 200 free (1:37.55). Meserole also landed in the A-final in the 100 back, ultimately taking eighth (49.33).
Senior Andrew Relihan took 12th in the 400 IM (3:54.97). Bradley Dillon was 10th in the 100 back (48.66). Both marks were also B-cut times.
David Speese (12th - 55.57, Sloan (14th - 55.72 and Colin Stang (16th - 56.23) all picked up points for the Terps in the 100 breast.
Senior Sean Stewart captured 18th (49.09) to pace the Terps in the 100 fly. Rob Maurer followed Stewart in 24th (1:44.61). Freshman Kyle Madley took 20th in the 100 back (49.61) in his first championships.
Maryland wraps up the championships Saturday with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m.
