The Maryland gymnastics team travels to Durham, N.H., Saturday, March 3 for a tri-meet with Bridgeport and EAGL-rival New Hampshire. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. It is the second time this season the Terps will face Bridgeport.
Maryland
The Terps (9-6, 3-3 EAGL) are averaging 193.995 per meet which is tied for 32nd nationally. Maryland has scored over 194 in three of its past four meets.
On vault, the Terps average 48.775 which is 24th nationally and is third in the EAGL. Maryland's 48.680 on floor is tied for 32nd nationally and is fourth in the league.
The Terps boast the top-two gymnasts in the league on vault. Sophomore Katy Dodds and junior Ally Krikorian average 9.855 and 9.845, respectively, while on floor, Dodds is first in the EAGL with a 9.840 average and Krikorian is fourth with a 9.795 average.
Freshman Stephanie Giameo ranks second in the league on beam (9.775) and sophomore Karen Tang leads the Terps on bars with a 9.780 average which is seventh in the conference.
Last Time Out
For the fourth time this season and third time in the past four meets, Maryland scored over 194 points. The Terps finished second in a tri-meet at San Jose State after posting a 194.250. The Spartans took first with 194.600.
Sophomore Katy Dodds tied for first on vault with a 9.850 which tied for the second-highest score of the meet.
Junior Ally Krikorian tallied a career-high 9.825 to tie for first with fellow Terp Stephanie Giameo on beam, and freshman Ebony Walters posted a career-best 9.825 on floor.
Series History
The Terps are 4-0 all-time against Bridgeport including a victory over the Purple Knights earlier this season.
Against New Hampshire, the Wildcats lead the all-time series 26-15, but the Terps defeated UNH in the schools two meetings last season.
Bridgeport
Bridgeport won a quad-meet at Rutgers last weekend with Air Force and Eastern Michigan. Bridgeport is the top-rated team in the ECAC and average 193.225 per meet.
The Purple Knights top event is floor. The squad averages 48.519 which is the best in the conference.
Monica Mesalles is the top gymnast in the ECAC on vault and floor. Mesalles averages 9.865 on vault and 9.800 on floor.
New Hampshire
The Wildcats scored a season-high 195.750 in a victory over 24th-ranked West Virginia. New Hampshire averages 194.415 per meet which ranks 29th nationally and is third in the EAGL.
New Hampshire's top event is floor. The Wildcats average 48.680 which is tied for fourth in the league.
Ali Carr is in the top-10 on vault, bars and beam. Carr is fifth in the EAGL on beam with an average of 9.775.
