Former Terps Volunteer at Easter Egg Roll

April 11, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Three former Maryland men's soccer players reunited on the South Lawn of the White House Monday to lend a foot in the 134th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

Danny Califf and Zac MacMath of the Philadelphia Union and D.C. United's Stephen King joined five other MLS players in helping children weave through dribbling courses as part of the "Let's Go, Let's Play, Let's Move" theme.

Accompanied by warm sunshine and a live music stage, the players reveled in the opportunity to help the President and the First Family in hosting nearly 35,000 guests.

"Any time there's something that's emailed to you with `White House' in the title, it'll give you a double-take," said Philadelphia Union defender Danny Califf to MLSsoccer.com. "To be able to do this - and take my family along - is probably one of the coolest experiences that I've had. I'm honored."

MacMath has started all four games in net for the Union this season, while Califf - entering his ninth season - has appeared twice. King, meanwhile, has also appeared twice for D.C. United.
