As a Senior (2012-2013): Played in the No. 1 singles and doubles position for the first time since her sophomore year at Southern Miss...Valuable leader for young teammates...Named to the All-ACC team after accumulating 10 wins from No. 1 singles...Ranked as high as 107th nationally in singles...came from behind to defeat No. 116 Jessica Watnick against Boston College (Feb 2)...defeated No. 31 Daneika Borthwick of Florida State for the Terps only point against the Seminoles...victory against No. 25 Hanna Mar of Duke clinched the Terps 4-3 upset of the No. 11 Blue Devils...won the last four games of the final set to defeat Mar...Combined with Olga Gaistruk and Sarah Gealer at No. 1 doubles.
As a Junior (2011-12): Joined the Terps in the spring from Southern Mississippi and quickly became a regular in Maryland's lineup...recorded nine victories playing primarily at No. 3 singles...paired with Cristina Stancu in doubles for the majority of the season and tallied 12 victories predominately from the No. 2 position...defeated Wake Forest's Rebecca Siegler in straight sets in the Terps' 6-1 victory over the Demon Deacons (4/5)...earned her first ACC win over Viet Ha Ngo of Georgia Tech, 7-5, 6-3 (3/23).
Prior to Maryland: Played two seasons at Southern Mississippi primarily at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in 2010-11...finished her sophomore season 7-16 overall...named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2011...completed her freshman season at 14-16 playing primarily No. 1 singles and doubles.
Personal: Daughter of Albert and Marion van Berlo...sister Elja played tennis for Southern Mississippi...plans to major in psychology.
