Williams on McCall: "Last year, Calvin focused on basketball all year for the first time. I think it was a good experience for him, and as practice went on he became a better basketball player. Hopefully that will continue this summer. We can use his senior leadership this year, as that becomes important to us because of the players that we lost. I think Calvin realizes that because of his size, he's going to go against bigger players sometimes. He has to be a great defensive player. He's always had the ability to put the ball in the basket. A lot of his potential will depend on his ability to play defense."

2001-02: Played in his first year with a full-time commitment to the basketball program and earned minutes in 19 of the Terps' 36 games, including three of the Terps' six NCAA Tournament games … averaged 1.4 points and 0.8 rebounds overall … hauled in a career-high four rebounds against Monmouth … registered his first career blocked shot vs. William & Mary and nailed a 3-pointer in the contest's waning moments … sank 1-of-2 free throws against NC State as part of a team 35-of-49 (.714) effort from the line … splashed in his second 3-pointer of the season vs. Norfolk State … made a jumper in the last two minutes of the Terps' 85-65 victory over Georgia Tech … career scoring night with 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting, including a 2-for-2 effort from 3-point range at Florida State … logged four minutes of play vs. Florida State in the ACC Tournament, tallying two points and two rebounds.

2000-01: Backup guard who appeared in 11 games, averaging 1.3 points … scored six points against Stony Brook on Dec. 6, hitting a pair of late 3-pointers … had four points in the BB&T Classic semifinal against Michigan … had an assist against Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament … shot 4-of-13 from the floor overall … contributed two steals and three rebounds against Chicago State … had six steals overall … made first appearance of the season against Michigan … joined the team in Maui for his first practice on Nov. 19, immediately following Maryland's final football game against Georgia Tech on Nov. 18 … in football, played in nine games and started eight before suffering an ankle injury against NC State on Nov. 4 … led Maryland in passing for the second straight season, completing 105-of-199 attempts for 1,533 yards, five touchdowns and nine interceptions … averaged 170.3 passing yards per game … finished 15th on Maryland's single-season passing chart … career-high 357 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Middle Tennessee State … had 200-yard passing days vs. West Virginia (215), Wake Forest (208) and Virginia (207).

1999-00: Walked on to the Terrapin basketball team in December and bolstered Maryland's defensive efforts … provided much-needed depth in the guard rotation … played in 13 games, averaging 1.1 points in just over five minutes per game … shot 5-of-22 from the floor, and 4-of-7 from the line … contributed 10 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals for the season … in football, was a nine-game starter and established most Maryland freshman records for passing and total offense … finished No. 2 among Division I-A freshman quarterbacks (behind Virginia Tech's Michael Vick) in passing efficiency and total offense … runner-up for ACC Rookie of the Year honors … completed 93-of-179 passes (.510) for 1,264 yards and five touchdowns … threw just three interceptions and finished with the best interception ratio (nearly 60:1) in the ACC … season was cut short by two games (torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee Nov. 9 vs. NC State) … a two-time ACC Rookie of the Week … the triggerman in the Terps' rejuvenated offensive attack, he helped Maryland rise from 105th nationally in 1998 to 54th overall in 1999 in final NCAA total offense rankings … threw for a career-high 221 yards at Georgia Tech and tossed a career-best two TD passes vs. West Virginia.

1998-99: Did not play basketball … traveled all season as Maryland's third quarterback and earned a football redshirt.
