Matt Noble returns to call the Terps' action after one season with the national champion squad. He spent more than 13 years on the radio with the Mount Basketball Network at Mount St. Mary's College. From 1992-98, he was also the play-by-play man for the Frederick Keys and was the only Keys announcer for all 140 games his last three seasons. A 1981 graduate of Maryland, Noble worked at WMUC during his four years in College Park, serving as Sports Director in 1979-80 and has filled in for Johnny Holliday on Maryland women's basketball games in the past.
Dave Preston also came to Maryland last season with extensive radio experience. Currently, he is the morning sports anchor for the new Triple X ESPN Radio in Washington, D.C. He serves as the station's beat reporter for Maryland football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Preston also anchors the pregame and halftime shows for the Redskins Radio Network. A 1992 Syracuse graduate, he began his career at WGIR Radio in New Hampshire, where he broadcasted Southern New Hampshire University basketball games from 1992-96. He went on to work at WLBC in Muncie, Ind., for four years, where he broadcast a variety of sports at all levels, including Ball State women's basketball, where he worked with current Maryland head coach Brenda Frese. Prior to his position at Triple X ESPN Radio, he was a sports anchor locally at WTOP-radio and nationally on Westwood One/CBS Radio.
