2010 - The Terps Return To Prominence
It may have not been the start head coach Cathy Reese was looking for, but the finish could not have been any sweeter for the 2010 NCAA National Championship Maryland women’s lacrosse team.

After falling victim to what appeared to be an insurmountable 6-0 first half deficit to five-time defending national champion Northwestern, the Terps staged one of the finest comebacks in NCAA Championship history with a 13-11 win over the Wildcats in front nearly 10,000 fans.

Caitlyn McFadden was named the NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player after scoring two goals, adding an assist and defensively holding the nation’s top attacker Katrina Dowd without a goal. McFadden would later pile on additional hardware, garnering both the Tewaaraton Trophy and the Honda Award as the top player in the nation.
