Each week during the 2014-15 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is junior Jake Layman of the Maryland men's basketball team.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Jake Layman has been named Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week for his offensive output in wins against NC Central and USC Upstate.
The junior forward scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc against NC Central. He also tacked on three rebounds and four assists.
In an early-afternoon tilt with USC Upstate, Layman poured on 17 points including 16 second half points to lead the Terps back from a four-point halftime deficit.
Layman has scored double-digits in every game this season for the 10-1 Terrapins and has averaged over 16 points per game since the absence of Dez Wells.
On the season, Layman is averaging 15.4 points per game and ranks 12th in the Big Ten.
The Terps No. 17 ranking in this week's Associated Press Top 25 represents Maryland's highest ranking in the polls since March 5, 2007 when the Terps were also ranked No. 17 in the nation. Maryland will next travel to Oklahoma State on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. EST.
