Terps Host Rutgers in Newlywed Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - In celebration of Maryland and Rutgers joining the Big Ten Conference last summer, the Terrapins hosted a newlywed-themed night during the Maryland-Rutgers game Wednesday.
Couples who had been married on or after July 1, 2014, the day the Terps joined the Big Ten, were able to take pictures with Testudo, dressed in his finest, before the game. Media were served cupcakes to honor the teams' union with the conference.
During halftime, couples competed in the Newlywed Game in front of 12,419 fans.
The Terrapins used a late push to defeat the Scarlet Knights, 73-65, led by 17 points from Dez Wells.
