Yogi Ferrell scored 24 points and Collin Hartman added a career high 15 to lead the Hoosiers (15-4, 5-1 Big Ten), who have won four straight.
Maryland trailed 38-35 at halftime and was led by Layman's 11 first-half points. Indiana opened the second half on a 14-3 run the first 4:08 of the stanza to take a commanding 12-point lead.
The Hoosiers connected on 60 percent of their shots, including a scorching 15-for-22 from three-point range en route to the victory.
Maryland returns to action when it welcomes Northwestern for a 7:30 p.m. tilt on Sunday, Jan. 25, at XFINITY Center. The game will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.
