#68 Terps Open at ITA Kickoff Weekend

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 68 Maryland women's tennis team will open its 2015 season against No. 61 Georgia State before either facing No. 2 Florida or Elon at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Gainsville, Fla.
The Terps enter the season ranked No. 61 in the ITA's preseason ratings. The Georgia State match begins at 2 p.m., Saturday. Maryland's Sunday contest will start at either noon or 2 p.m., depending on Saturday's result.
In doubles, the duo of Olivia Gaudreault and Alexandra Stanova checks in at No. 48 in the ITA's rankings. The Terps will look to create depth behind that pair to help take the opening point of matches this season.
An All-ACC selection last season, Stanova will also be a key part of the Terps' efforts in singles. Junior Nataliya Bredikhina had a breakout season last year as Maryland's No. 2 singles player while Kristina Hovsepyan and Welma Luus will provide depth after solid seasons in 2014.
Ekaterina Tour, the lone freshman on the squad, comes to Maryland after representing Israel in Fed Cup play. Olga Gaistruk and Olga Bredikhina will try to improve on last year's results while Cassandre Thebault looks to rebound after an injury plagued 2014.
