
Terps Head West For The Mary Nutter Classic

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland softball team heads west for a five-game stint in the 12th annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. The Terps (6-4, 0-0 B1G) look to build off their dominating pitching performances, after going 3-2 in the FAU 'Strike Out Cancer' tournament last weekend.
Maryland will face off against #24 Notre Dame, BYU, Nevada, UNLV, and Long Beach State in Maryland's third tournament of the season. The team takes on Notre Dame and BYU in a double header on Thursday. On Friday, the Terrapins will face Nevada, and the team will finish the weekend on Saturday against UNLV and Long Beach State.

Last Time Out

Scouting Notre Dame
- Last time out, Notre Dame went 1-4 in the Tiger Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. The team dropped two games against #16 LSU and Hofstra by the score of 3-2.
- The Fighting Irish currently sit at 5-4 on the season, and ranked 24th in the nation.
- Katey Haus leads Notre Dame from the plate with a .444 batting average on the season in 27 at bats. She has 12 hits, three home runs and eight RBIs.
- Thursday's match-up marks the ninth all-time meeting between the Terrapins and Fighting Irish. Notre Dame currently holds a 8-0 series advantage. The two teams last faced each other in 2014 for a three-game series in which the Irish took.
Scouting BYU
- Last time out, BYU went 4-1 in the Wilson/DeMarini Desert Classic. The team picked up wins against Hawaii, Northwestern, UNLV and UTEP.
- BYU currently sits at 6-4 on the season and 5-4 in games at a neutral site.
- McKenna Bull was named West Coast Conference for her performance in the Wilson/DeMarini Desert Classic. Bull went 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
- Thursday's match-up marks the second all-time meeting between Maryland and Brigham Young. BYU currently holds a 1-0 series advantage. The two teams last faced each other in 2002.
Scouting Nevada
