#1 Maryland Hits Road to Face Hofstra Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (2-0) is back on the road as the Terps face Hofstra (2-1) Saturday in Hampstead, N.Y. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Scouting the terrapins
- Through two games this season, Maryland is averaging 14.00 goals per game on 29.0 shots per game while limiting opponents to 8.00 goals and 15.0 shots per game.
- Junior Taylor Cummings leads the Terrapins with seven goals, 14 draw controls and six caused turnovers. Sophomore Zoe Stukenberg has five goals and four assists for nine points.
- Senior Megan Douty and junior Casey Pepperman each have five ground balls on the season.
- The Terps are second in the Big Ten and ninth nationally in caused turnovers per game (12.50). Cummings is first in the conference and sixth nationally in the category with 3.00 caused turnovers per game.

- The team is averaging 10.00 goals per game on 22.3 shots per game. Brittain Altomare leads the Pride with eight goals and eight assists. April Iannetta has 11 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and 14 draw controls through three games.
- Iannetta was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week after posting nine ground balls, nine caused turnovers and three draw controls in two games last week. Iannetta is a preseason Inside Lacrosse All-American and the defending CAA Defensive Player of the Year.

- The Terps held the Tar Heels to 11 goals and 16 shots on Sunday. The Tar Heels came into the game averaging 16.33 goals per game and 36.7 shots per game.
