ST. LOUIS - Senior Spencer Myers fell just short of All-American status as the Maryland wrestling team finished up at the NCAA Championships this weekend.
Myers dropped his quarterfinal bout to Adam Coon of Michigan before falling in a consolation match to Michael Kroells of Minnesota.
In the match against Coon, Myers was unable to get to his offense, and missed on a late takedown in the closing second to beat the Michigan grappler.
In the consolation bracket, Myers and Kroells went to overtime before Myers lost on riding time in TB-2.
Lou Mascola was knocked out of the tournament by Alex Elder of Oregon State.
