Braxton Brown Returns To Maryland Wrestling As Director Of Student-Athlete Development

Head coach Alex Clemsen announced the return of Brown to the Maryland wrestling program on Tuesday.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — Four-time NCAA qualifier Braxton Brown has returned to Maryland wrestling as the director of student-athlete development, head coach Alex Clemsen announced Tuesday.
"The Maryland wrestling program has benefited and gotten better each year since the arrival of Braxton Brown to College Park," Clemsen said. "I'm really excited to keep him home and involved with Clemsen and Company. Having a homegrown guy of Braxton's caliber staying in the program is awesome on so many levels. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with him in this new capacity as we all work to continue to build Maryland wrestling."
A native of Allen, Texas, Brown initially came to College Park ahead of the 2021-22 season before redshirting. He then became a four-time NCAA qualifier, placing fifth at the 2025 Big Ten Championships and sixth at the 2024 Big Ten Championships.
Brown was a two-time recipient of both the John C. McHugh Coach's Award and the Hudson Taylor Award, winning the two awards in both 2025 and 2026. The two accolades honored his excellence on the mat and as a leader in the Maryland wrestling program.
Brown will continue to grow the young men in Maryland's program in his new role as the director of student-athlete development.
