WASHINGTON, D.C. – Guard Dez Wells officially joined the Washington Wizards Summer League roster today. The announcement made by the Washington Wizards has the former Terp and first team All-Big Ten selection poised to make his NBA debut at the Las Vegas Summer League next week.
The heart and soul of a Maryland team that finished with a school record 26 regular season (28 victories overall) in its inaugural year in the Big Ten, Wells averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a senior.
The Wizards' Summer League team will begin practice on Monday, July 6 in preparation for their first game on Saturday, July 11 against the Phoenix Suns at 6 p.m. EST on NBATV.
Wells, 23, will have the opportunity to play in a minimum of five games in the single-elimination tournament. The Las Vegas Summer League runs from July 10-20 - with all games held at Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion.
