
No. 75 Terps Set to Host James Madison Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 75 Maryland women's tennis team is set to host James Madison in its home opener this Saturday at noon at the Tennis Center at College Park.

- Maryland went 0-2 at the season opening ITA Kick-Off with losses to No. 58 Columbia and BYU.
- The Terrapins fell 5-2 to BYU with Arnelle Sullivan taking the only singles victory, 6-0, 6-2. Maryland also picked up the doubles point while freshman Caroline Williams lost a tight three-set decision.
- Maryland's preseason ranking of No. 66 is its highest since 2012. The Terps return eight players from last season's squad.
- Sophomore Ekaterina Tour is the Terps' top singles player and was ranked in the top-15 of the Atlantic Regional rankings.
- The doubles pair of Tour and Kristina Hovsepyan was rated as the seventh-best doubles team in the Atlantic Region in the ITA preseason ratings.
