COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland Student Athlete Advisory Committee sponsored it's fourth annual “TerpsGiving” meal drive Sunday providing meals to families in need. The SAAC partnered with the ShopRite to handout 200 Thanksgiving meals at Amazing Grace Church in Baltimore.

Student-athletes had the opportunity to interact with families at the church, and put together meals which included turkey, potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce and stuffing.

“I thought the event went really well,” said SAAC president Hannah Dewey. “It's always my favorite fall event because we are able to give back to the community directly. We are able to help those less fortunate than us and it allows us to see how fortunate we truly are as Maryland student-athletes. We are so grateful to have been able to interact with everyone there, and we can't thank ShopRite and the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church enough for having us. They are so easy to work with, and we hope to continue with them in the future.”
