COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After leading the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 19-7 win over William & Mary last Sunday, senior midfielder Taylor Cummings and freshman attacker Caroline Steele earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference Monday.
Cummings was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week while Steele earned Co-Freshman of the Week honors.
Cummings scored four goals and notched two assists against the Pride. She also picked up four ground balls and caused a career-high five caused turnovers.
Steele scored twice on two shots vs. William & Mary, including a behind-the-back goal to start her scoring as a Terp.
This is the sixth time Cummings has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Steele shared the honors with Ohio State's Baley Parrott.
The Terps host Georgetown this Saturday, Feb. 20, at noon. The game will be played at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex and will be streamed on BTN Plus.
