Box Score NORMAN, Okla.- The Maryland softball team fell to No. 13 Oklahoma 11-2 in six innings on Saturday night.
Oklahoma jumped on top in the bottom of the first with two runs off two hits. Hannah Dewey held the Sooners scoreless in the second, third and fourth.
It was Dewey that tied the game in the fifth inning as well. After Sarah Calta unleashed her second triple of the year down the left field line, Hannah Dewey chimed in on the next pitch with a rocket over the right-center field fence to tie the game at two.
The Sooners took control after that, scoring three in the fifth and six in the sixth off three different Terrapin pitchers. A Fale Aviu three-run home run, her second three run homer of the game, won the game for the hometown team, 11-2, in six innings.
Maryland will wrap up its trip to Norman with a rematch against the 13th ranked Sooners tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. EST. The game can be watched via Sooner Sports TV ($) or listened to on KEBC 1650.
