
Trimble Named to USBWA All-District III Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore Melo Trimble was named to the USBWA All-District III squad, announced Tuesday afternoon.
Trimble, who was named to the national ballot for the Wooden Award on Saturday, leads the Terps in scoring (14.4 ppg), assists (159), free throw percentage (.861) and steals (42). The guard was second in the B1G in free throw percentage, fifth in assists, tied for fourth in steals and 16th in scoring. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native scored 20 or more points eight times, including B1G games vs. Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Northwestern and Nebraska.
District III represents the states of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland. Virginia's Malcolm Brogdon and Tonny Bennett earned player and coach of the year honors, respectively.
Maryland – the third seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament – will play in the quarterfinals on Friday at 9 p.m. in Indianapolis.
