Spotlight: Three Terps Selected in Mlb Draft
The 2016 MLB Draft culminated Saturday with three Maryland players selected. Junior right-handed pitcher Mike Shawaryn was selected in the fifth round (148th overall) by the Boston Red Sox on Day Two.

On Day Three, junior RHP Mike Rescigno was drafted in the 25th round (755th overall) by the San Francisco Giants while senior LHP Robert Galligan was taken in the 36th round (1079th overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Brett Cecil – Toronto Blue Jays
Overview: Cecil appeared 16 times this season before being placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Justin Maxwell – Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox)
Overview: Maxwell has played 50 games for Triple-A Pawtucket and is batting .223 with five home runs and 22 RBI.
Adam Kolarek – Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays)
Overview: Has settled in at the Triple-A level and has appeared 23 times with a 4.00 ERA. Holds a 2-2 record with 25 strikeouts in 27.0 IP.
Jimmy Reed – Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals)
Overview: Currently out due to injury.
Jake Stinnett – Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs)
Overview: Stinnett struck out six over five and one third innings of work in his last time out for Myrtle Beach. He currently has 26 Ks and is holding opponents to a .233 BAA.
LaMonte Wade – Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins)
Overview: Wade will participate in the Midwest League All-Star Game on June 21st after being selected for the West squad. The Owings Mills native will also be one of six players to take part in the MWL Home Run Derby. Wade is batting .302 with four home runs and 27 RBI.

Brandon Lowe – Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays)
Overview: Lowe notched a three-hit game against the Fort Wayne TinCaps on June 9 and has raised his average to .256. Lowe has played in 47 games with an OBP of .362.
Zach Morris – Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies)
Overview: Morris has appeared 23 times for the BlueClaws and sports a 3.48 ERA in 31.0 IP. He holds a 3-1 record and has struck out 24 batters.
Jose Cuas – Brevard County Manatees (Milwaukee Brewers)
Overview: Cuas broke out of a slump on June 13 with a 2-for-4 night, including an RBI.
Jake Drossner – Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers)
Overview: After starting the season in the starting rotation, Drossner has moved to the bullpen and was effective in his most recent outing, striking out three over two innings of work against the Kane County Cougars.
