
Turgeon, Huerter Open 2-0 with U18 National Team

VALDIVA, Chile – Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon, incoming freshman Kevin Huerter and the USA Men's U18 National Team are off to a fast start at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championships. Team USA defeated Puerto Rico, 103-70, in its opening game in Group B on Tuesday before taking out the US Virgin Islands, 107-63.
Huerter tallied seven points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal in more than 19 minutes in Team USA's win over the USA Virgin Islands.
In Team USA's opener, Huerter debuted with four points and a pair of steals. The 6'7 guard is an incoming freshman on Turgeon's 2016-17 squad.
Team USA will face off with host Chile in its final Group B contest on Thursday, July 21, at 8:15 p.m. Below is the tournament's remaining schedule.
