Terps Trio Named Big Ten Preseason Honorees

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Juniors Joe Brooks, David Kocher and sophomore Timothy Colanta earned Big Ten Preseason honors the conference announced Wednesday.
This the second straight year Kocher was honored and first for Brooks and Colanta.
Kocher was named to the All-Big Ten Team in both his freshman and sophomore seasons and earned NCAA Regionals bids as an individual in both years as well. He racked up seven top 10 finishes last year and earned his first collegiate win at the Firestone Invitational last fall.
Brooks earned three top-20 finishes and wound up in the top 20 at the Big Ten Championships, when he finished -1 overall to tie for 17th.
Colanta had a strong freshman season, notching two top 20 finishes on the year. Colanta ended the season on a high note, shooting a 216, which was even, at the Big Ten Championships. He tied for 14th on the leaderboard.
The Terrapins will open the season Sept. 12-13 at The Invitational at The Ocean Course, hosted by the College of Charleston at the Kiawah Island Resort. Live scoring will be available here.
