EVANSTON, Ill. – The No. 1 Maryland men's soccer team capped a challenging month of September with a 4-0 rout at Northwestern Friday night.

Maryland (7-0-2, 4-0-1 B1G) remained unbeaten on the year despite lining up against five-straight conference foes, including three on the road, this month. Jake Rozhansky, Amar Sejdic, Gordon Wild and George Campbell provided the scoring for the Terps. The Maryland defense completed its third shutout of the year and its second in a row.

Rozhansky kicked off the scoring early with a goal in the 11th minute. Sejdic and Elney provided the through ball and the junior transfer from Virginia nailed the finish from 10 yards.

Sejdic gave Maryland a 2-0 cushion in the 51st minute after he slotted the rebound for his third goal of the year. Rozhansky and Wild were credited with assists on the play.

Wild took the scoring into his own hands on Maryland's third goal on a pretty play in the 61st minute. After Sejdic served the ball from the left, Elney headed the ball back across the goal to Wild who finished for his league-leading ninth tally of 2016.

George Campbell ended the Maryland offensive outburst with a goal at 79:59 off assists from D.J. Reeves and Diego Silva.

The Cologne, Germany, native then added two more goals in a 4-1 rout of South Florida Monday. He also notched his first career assist with the Terrapins.

“I thought tonight was just really a complete performance,” head coach Sasho Cirovski said. “Our team was highly motivated after the results from the last two years against Northwestern and it showed. We controlled the entire 90 minutes.”

Maryland welcomes San Diego on Monday night for a 7 p.m. tilt at Ludwig Field.
