
#24 Terps Set to Host Minnesota Wednesday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 24 Maryland men's basketball team hosts Minnesota Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at XFINITY Center.

• Melo Trimble scored a game-high 27 points but No. 11 Wisconsin rallied in the second half to down No. 23 Maryland 71-60 on Sunday afternoon at the Kohl Center.
• Trimble was named Big Ten Conference Player of the Week for his performances at Northwestern and No. 11 Wisconsin, the league announced Monday. Trimble averaged 29.5 points, connected on 21-of-34 field goals (.617) and made 8-1of-12 of his three-pointers (.667) at Northwestern and No. 11 Wisconsin. The junior guard posted a career-high 32 points and connected on 12-of-17 field goals and 4-of-5 three-point attempts in the 74-64 win at Northwestern on Tuesday. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native followed his career-best performance against the Wildcats with a game-high 27 points on 9-of-17 from the field and 4-of-7 from the three-point line at Wisconsin.
• The Terps will be wearing “Do Good” patches in the game against Minnesota Wednesday as part of the University of Maryland's $75 million initiative to become the nation's first “Do Good” campus. From orientation to graduation, the Do Good Institute will engage the entire student body in “doing good” in their communities, both locally and worldwide.
• Junior center Michal Cekovsky fractured his left ankle in the second half at No. 11 Wisconsin Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season, head coach Mark Turgeon announced Monday. Cekovsky appeared in 17 games for the Terps this season, averaging a career-high 7.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He posted 10 points before sustaining the injury with less than four minutes to go in the second half against the Badgers.
• Head coach Mark Turgeon coached his 200th career game at Maryland when the Terps battled Wisconsin on Sunday. Turgeon has the best winning percentage through 200 games in program history (.815).
• Since joining the Big Ten Conference for the 2014-15 season, Maryland is second among all conference schools with a .785 winning percentage. The Terps are 77-21 overall, including a 36-14 mark in league play.
