
Giles, Taylor Earn B1G Weekly Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After leading the Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 13-10 win over then-No. 1 North Carolina, sophomores Jen Giles and Megan Taylor were named Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday.
Giles set a career high with six points (3G, 3A) against the Tar Heels. She went 2-for-2 on free position shots. Giles also caused two turnovers and picked up one ground ball.
Taylor made 10 saves and scooped up three ground balls vs. the Tar Heels. She also caused one turnover. Taylor leads the Big Ten with 7.40 goals against average and a .571 save percentage this season. The Glenelg, Md., native was also named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 14.
The Terps are back in action this Saturday at Hofstra (2-1) at 1 p.m.
