COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 7 Maryland (7-0) will host local opponent UMBC (6-2) Sunday at 1 p.m. at the XFINITY Center.

Maryland is 11-0 all-time vs. UMBC and 5-0 against the Retrievers at the XFINITY Center. Most recently, the Terrapins won 92-42 in College Park on Dec. 4, 2016
Maryland held off Georgia Tech, 67-54, Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in College Park. The Terrapins led 38-18 at half, then the Yellow Jackets went on a 15-0 run to cut the Terps' lead to one. Kaila Charles went on an 11-0 run herself and scored 13 of her 21 points in the fourh quarter. Taylor Mikesell scored 20 points.
Maryland is leading the country in rebounds with 51.00 per game. The Terps are third in the nation in rebounding margin (+19.3), No. 3 in defensive rebounds (35.0) and No. 6 in blocks (6.9). Freshman Shakira Austin leads the country in total blocks (25) and is No. 7 in total rebounds (89).
Head coach Brenda Frese picked up career win 493 Thursday and now owns a career record of 493-149 (.768) in her 20 years as a head coach.
Maryland is ranked No. 7 Associated Press poll and No. 10 in the USA Today Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.
After Sunday's matchup, the Terrapins will host James Madison (5-1) Saturday at noon at the XFINITY Center.
The Terrapins will host their annual Teddy Bear Toss at Saturday's game. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to toss on to the court during halftime. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to College Park Youth and Family Services. Fans will have the chance to win prizes if they register their teddy bears at the marketing table and their teddy bear lands on a target on the floor.
Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with Testudo in his Santa costume on the concourse from 11:00- 11:45 a.m. Season ticket holders will have the chance to take a photo with a photographer at the end of the game and have it emailed to them as a keepsake.
