COLLEGE PARK, Md. --- Freshman Taylor Mikesell scored 19 points and No. 7 Maryland cruised to a 83-48 victory over Loyola (Md.) on Monday to remain undefeated.

Freshman Shakira Austin had 17 points and 13 rebounds to record her fourth double-double and Stephanie Jones added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Terrapins, who overcame a sluggish opening eight minutes to build a 20-point halftime lead.

Maryland, which outscored Loyola 54-4 in the paint, is off to a 10-0 start for the third time in the last four seasons.

Delaney Connolly scored 17 points to lead Loyola (0-10), which shot just 29.6 percent from the floor.

Maryland led only 9-8 with two minutes left in the first quarter, but Channise Lewis' 3-pointer sparked a 17-0 run to put the game out of reach. Mikesell connected on a pair of 3-pointers during the spurt, while Austin had five points in the stretch.

The Greyhounds never again cut the deficit to less than 14 points.

Maryland has won 18 in a row against Loyola, including in each of the last 13 seasons, and leads the all-time series 25-3.

Monday's matchup was the Terps' annual Field Trip Day game at the XFINITY Center. The Terrapins welcomed over 6,000 local elementary and middle school students for the game.

Head coach Brenda Frese picked up career win No. 496 Monday and now owns a career record of 496-149 (.769) in her 20 years as a head coach.

Maryland is ranked No. 7 in both the Associated Press poll and the USA Today Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Next, the Terrapins will enter final exam week. Their final game before a holiday break will be Thursday, Dec. 20 at Delaware. The Terps and the Blue Hens will tip off at 3 p.m. at Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center in Newark.
