COLLEGE PARK, Md.  --- The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (10-0) will play a matinee matchup at Delaware Thursday before the Terrapins' holiday break. The Terps and the Blue Hens will tip off at 3 p.m. at Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center in Newark.

Shakira Austin was voted Co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week Monday along with Michigan's Naz Hillmon. This is Austin's third weekly honor in six weeks.

Austin continued her dominant start to her rookie season with her fourth double-double of the year against Loyola last Monday. She went 8-for-12 from the floor of 17 points with 13 boards and a block. She added five points in the Terps' 17-0 first half run to build the lead. She has pulled down 11 or more rebounds in seven of 10 games so far this season.

This is the 12th meeting between Maryland and Delaware (3-6), with the Terps winning the previous 11 matchups. Most recently, the Terrapins won 69-53 at the Bob Carpenter Center on Dec. 20, 2012.

Maryland is No. 3 in the country in rebounding margin (+17.2) and No. 5 in rebounds with 47.9 per game. The Terps are also fifth in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (33) and No. 8 in scoring margin (+26.5). Austin is No. 5 in the country and second in the Big Ten in total blocks (27). Brenda Frese is in her 17th season as the head coach of the Terrapins. She's led them to a record of 439-119 (.787). She is 4 wins from 500 in her 20-year head coaching career with a record of 496-149 (.769). Frese has led the Terrapins to 14 NCAA Tournaments in her 16 post seasons, three Final Fours, six Elite Eights, eight Sweet Sixteens and nine conference titles.

After a holiday break, the Terrapins will open Big Ten play with a road trip to Penn State (7-4) on Friday, Dec. 28. The Terps and the Lady Lions will tip off at 7 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.
