
#7 Terps Tip Off Against James Madison Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The seventh-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (8-0) will host James Madison (6-1) Saturday in a noon matchup at the XFINITY Center.

The Terrapins will host their annual Teddy Bear Toss at Saturday's game. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to toss on to the court during halftime. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to College Park Youth and Family Services. Fans will have the chance to win prizes if they register their teddy bears at the marketing table and their teddy bear lands on a target on the floor.
Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with Testudo in his Santa costume on the concourse from 11:00- 11:45 a.m. Season ticket holders will have the chance to take a photo with a photographer at the end of the game and have it emailed and mailed to them as a keepsake.
Fans can watch on the BTN2Go app and BTN2Go.com with their cable login information. Former Terrapin Chloe Pavlech will join the commentary on the broadcast.

Maryland is 8-1 all-time vs. James Madison and has won the last eight straight matchups, dating back to 1975. Most recently, the Terps beat the Dukes, 80-64, in the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico on Nov. 28, 2014.
The Terrapins beat UMBC, 92-61, Sunday at the XFINITY Center. Stephanie Jones led the way with 17 points, Shakira Austin added 15 and 11 boards and Sara Vujacic scored 13 off the bench. Kaila Charles and Taylor Mikesell also hit double figures. The Terps won the battle in the paint, 50-18, and outrebounded UMBC 44-28.
Maryland is leading the country in rebounding margin (+18.9) and is No. 2 in the nation in rebounds with 50.13 per game. The Terps are 4 in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (34) and No. 6 in total blocks (48). Freshman Shakira Austin is No. 2 in the country in total blocks (25) and is No. 7 in total rebounds (100).
Maryland is ranked No. 7 in both the Associated Press poll and the USA Today Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Maryland will host Loyola Monday at 11 a.m. for the Terps' annual Field Trip Day game at the XFINITY Center. The Terrapins will welcome over 6,000 local elementary and middle school students for the game.
