COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski announced the addition of Vinicius Lansade to the 2018 squad Monday morning.
A forward from Fairfield, Conn., Lansade come to the Terps by way of New York City FC, where he played for the youth sides of the MLS outfit. In addition, Alessandro Milesi, who was previously announced as a member of Maryland's incoming freshman class, has signed a contract with Brescia Calcio of Italy's Serie B. As a result, Milesi will no longer be attending Maryland.
"I am delighted to welcome Vini to College Park," head coach Sasho Cirovski said. "Vini is a very skillful left footed attacking talent. He is comfortable in any of the front four attacking positions. He is coming off a great season with NYCFC U-19 Academy team and was influential in their USSDA U-19 National Championship. In addition, his vast experience training with the NYCFC first team will prove to be very valuable. He plays at a high tempo, which fits in very well with our style and is appreciated by our fans. Though I was very disappointed with Alesandro's decision to forego college, we wish him well in his professional endeavors in Italy."
