COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's basketball team released its non-conference slate for the 2018-19 season Wednesday, which includes contests against SEC foes South Carolina, Georgia and ACC opponent Georgia Tech.
The Terrapins will officially open the new season on Friday, Nov. 9 with a home matchup against Coppin State. On Sunday, Nov. 11, Maryland will host the 2018 Atlantic 10 champion Dayton Flyers at the XFINITY Center.
The Terps will travel across town to play local opponent George Washington on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Maryland will make a return trip to Columbia, S.C. to take on the 2017 NCAA Champion Gamecocks on Sunday, Nov. 18. In last year's matchup in College Park,
Kaila Charles scored 31 points, 19 in the fourth quarter, in a comeback effort that fell just short.
The Terrapins will travel to San Juan for the Puerto Rico Clasico tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. They will take on Morgan State and Georgia, who advanced to the NCAA Second Round this past season, on Nov. 23 and 24. For more on the Puerto Rico Clasico, click

Maryland will return home to host Georgia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at the XFINITY Center on Thursday, Nov. 29. The Terrapins own the all-time series over the Yellow Jackets, 49-18.
Maryland will continue its home stand against UMBC on Sunday, Dec. 2, James Madison on Saturday, Dec. 8 and Loyola on Monday, Dec. 10.
The Terrapins will travel to Newark to take on Delaware on Thursday, Dec. 20 before the holiday break.
The Terps will host Kutztown in an exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 28 and Clarion in a second exhibition on Friday, Nov. 2.

This year, Maryland welcomes the No. 4 freshman class in the country, featuring
Shakira Austin,
Taylor Mikesell and
Olivia Owens, as well as transfer
Sara Vujacic.
The Terrapins earned an overall record of 26-8 last season and advanced to their fourth straight Big Ten championship game and NCAA Second Round. The Terps return four starters. Charles earned All-Big Ten First Team and WBCA All-Region honors.
