Maryland Drops Road Match at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The ninth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team dropped a road match at No. 17 Michigan State, 77-60, Thursday night at the Breslin Center.
Senior Brianna Fraser led the way for Maryland (15-2, 4-2 B1G) with 22 points and six rebounds. Freshman Taylor Mikesell added 12 points.
The Spartans made their first five shots and jumped out to a 16-point lead at 22-6 with 2:51 left in the first quarter. Fraser subbed in and went on a 7-0 run with two quick rebounds to start a Terrapins' run.
Maryland won the second quarter, 19-12, to cut Michigan State's lead to just three at 37-34.
The Spartans took control of the rebounding game in the second half to win both quarters. They went 14-for-16 from the free throw line in the second half to seal the win.
Jenna Allen led Michigan State with16 points and Taryn McCutcheon had 15.
Next, the Terrapins will host Penn State (9-7, 2-3) at the XFINITY Center Sunday for a 2 p.m. matchup.
Sunday's game is also Super Hero Day with surprises throughout the day with super heroes. Fans can meet super heroes on the concourse before the game.
