COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland Gymnastics team fell to the No. 8 ranked Michigan Wolverines Saturday night. The Terps earned a final team score of 193.525.
"We made a lot of little mistakes and they added up to hurt us in the final score," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "Everything we need is there, we just need to smooth things out, stay calm and be confident."
The GymTerps had a solid showing on bars with a team score of 48.700 led off by sophomore Emilie LeBlanc who led Maryland with a 9.825. Sophomore Audrey Barber followed with a 9.800 of her own.
Barber was the lone all-around competitor for the Terrapins and finished the day with a 39.125. She matched her season best beam score (9.775) as well as floor (9.800).
Junior Alecia Farina and sophomore Collea Burgess both earned new season bests on floor (9.775).
"I think its really great to compete against tougher teams," said Burgess. "It pushes us to get better, get stronger, so this is something that we are glad to have under our belt going forward it gives us a lot more confidence."
The Terps head to New Jersey next week to face Rutgers at 3 p.m. on BTN2go.
