COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Erin Seppi garnered her second Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honor Tuesday in a release made by the conference offices this afternoon. The Monroe Township, N.J. native played a crucial role in Maryland's 1-0-1 week in Big Ten play, holding a 0.45 goals against average and .889 save percentage in 200 minutes of action.
Seppi led Maryland to its fifth shutout of the season against Indiana on October 17, making six saves in a double overtime draw with the Hoosiers. She followed it up with a two-save effort in wet and slippery conditions against Purdue, as Maryland came back to defeat the Boilermakers 2-1 on October 20 for a critical Big Ten win. Â
Seppi was previously named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week on September 10, becoming the first Maryland player to earn two of the conference's weekly awards in the same season.
She and the rest of the Maryland women's soccer team will return to action on Thursday, October 24 when the Terps face Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. Â
