CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Maryland field hockey squad (17-3) will take on third-seeded Virginia (17-4) Sunday at 1 p.m. in the NCAA Field Hockey Quarterfinals at the Cavaliers' Turf Field in Charlottesville.
•  All seats at the Turf Field will be general admission with tickets priced at $5. Students also must pay $5 for tickets to NCAA field hockey events. Children under two are free. If a child has celebrated their second birthday they must have a paid admission. Tickets will only be available for purchase on the day of game and sales will be cash only.
•  There will also be a $5 parking fee at the John Paul Jones Arena South lot and the McCue Center lot.

RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
• This is Maryland's 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance - the longest active streak in the country. The Terps have made 31 total NCAA Tournament appearances and are 64-23 (.736) all-time in NCAA Tournament games, which is the highest Tournament winning percentage in the nation. Missy Meharg is 60-22 (.732) all-time in NCAA Tournament games, the best percentage among active Division I coaches, and second among all coaches only to Maryland's Sue Tyler, who was 4-1 (.800).
• Maryland beat Saint Joseph's, 4-0, Friday in the NCAA First Round. The two teams were scoreless at half, then Brooke DeBerdine scored her first goal of the year 1:01 into the third quarter and the Terps never looked back. Bodil Keus scored twice and Mayv Clune added the Terrapins's final goal.
• Madison Maguire was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team. Bodil Keus was voted Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. Keus and freshman Emma DeBerdine were also voted to the All-Big Ten Tournament First Team.
• Maguire leads the Terps with 12 goals and 10 assists this season. Linda Cobano has scored nine goals and Emma DeBerdine has scored seven goals this season. Fourteen total Terrapins have scored this year.
• The Terps went 22-3 in 2018, advancing to their second straight NCAA Championship game. They won the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles as well.
SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
• Virginia was ranked No. 4 in the final NFHCA Coaches poll.
• Cato Geusgens leads the Cavaliers with eight goals this season.
• Maryland leads the series, 42-21-2 over Virginia and has won five of the last six matchups.
• Earlier this year, Maryland beat Virginia, 3-2, in a shootout victory in College Park on Sept. 13. Kyler Greenwalt and Emma DeBerdine both scored to tie the game twice in regulation, then Bibi Donraadt made the final shootout chance for the go-ahead score. Frost stopped three of six Virginia shootout chances to seal the win.
MARYLAND IN THE TOP 10
• Maryland was tabbed as the No. 3 team in the country in the final Penn Monto/Division I Coaches poll released Nov. 12.
• The Terrapins have been ranked in the top 10 for 192 of 224 weeks since 1999.

The Terrapins joined the Big Ten conference in 2014, after playing in the ACC for 31 years. Big Ten field hockey is the largest conference in the history of the sport in the NCAA with nine teams - Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland.
• Maryland has won five of six conference regular season titles since joining the league in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
• The Terps are 136-41-3 (.764) all-time against Big Ten opponents.
• Head coach Missy Meharg is 118-21-1 (.846) vs. Big Ten opponents in her 32 years at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program.
• Since joining the league in 2014, the Terps are 53-10 in conference play, including their 14 Big Ten Tournament games.
• The Terrapins are 48-3 (.940) vs. Big Ten teams at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• The Terrapins won the first Big Ten title for the University of Maryland with a 4-1 win over No. 14 Iowa on Nov. 1, 2014 in College Park.
HOME SWEET HOME
Since its opening in 2003, the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has provided the Maryland hockey program a huge home field advantage.
• The Terps are 188-20 (.904) all-time at the Complex.
• Maryland won 38 straight games at the Complex from Oct.11, 2008 through Oct. 14, 2011. The streak ended with a 5-2 loss to then-No. 1 Old Dominion.
• The Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex has played home to 28 of Maryland's NCAA Tournament games and has played host to three Final Fours (2007, 2010, 2014). The Terrapins are 25-3 in those games and won the 2010 national title on their home field.
PACK THE HOUSE
• The Maryland field hockey team has increasingly attracted more and more fans to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex season after season. The Terrapins have led the nation in attendance in five of the last eight years.
• An NCAA-record crowd of 2,381 came out to watch as Maryland beat North Carolina 3-2 in double overtime for the 2010 national championship at the Complex.
THREE TERPSÂ EARN PRESEASON BIG TEN HONORS
• Graduate student Jen Bleakney, senior Madison Maguire and junior Bodil Keus earned Big Ten Preseason Honors to start the season. The full list, click HERE.
• Keus was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year last season and earned NFHCA First Team All-America honors. She scored nine goals with seven assists and three defensive saves in 2018.
• Maguire notched seven goals, including an overtime game winner over No. 5 Connecticut to send the Terps to their 19th Final Four. She picked up 12 assists on the year and earned NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region honors..
• Bleakney comes to the Terrapins from Syracuse, where she tallied 11 goals and six assists in three seasons.

• Bleakney and Keus were voted team co-captains by their peers.
OVERTIME IS TERPS TIME
During Missy Meharg's tenure, the Terrapins have become one of the nation's most dangerous teams in overtime.
• The Terps are 70-25 (.737) all-time in games that went to overtime or a shootout.
• In Meharg's tenure, the Terps are 59-21 (.738) in overtime or shootout games.
• Maryland is 16-3 in overtime and shootout games at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
STAFF UPDATES
• The Terrapins welcome two new assistant staff members and former Terrapins in 2019. Janessa Pope will serve as the team's director of operations and Sarah Holliday is a student assistant coach.
• Pope played for the Terrapins from 2009-2012 and won two NCAA Championships in her career. She graduated with her degree in hearing and speech sciences and works at a local elementary school as a speech language pathologist for preschoolers.
• Holliday played for the Terrapins from 2015-2018 and started in 74 career games. She notched 261 career saves. She is finishing her degree in psychology.
TERPS ON NATIONAL TEAMS
• Thirteen Terrapins, former and present, are currently on USA Field Hockey's national team rosters.
• Jill (Witmer) Funk competed with Team USA in the Rio Olympics along with former volunteer assistant coach Stefanie Fee. Former Terrapin Megan Frazer is on the Irish National Team.
• Recent grads Linnea Gonzales, Anna Dessoye and Alyssa Parker are on the U.S. Women's National Team. The won bronze in the Pan American games this summer.
• Seniors Kelee Lepage, Madison Maguire and recent grad Sabrina Rhodes are on the U.S. Developmental Squad.
• Current Terps Brooke DeBerdine and Kyler Greenwalt are on the U.S. Under-21 Team. Emma DeBerdine, Belle Bressler and Riley Donnelly are on the U.S. U-19 Team.
