- Maryland are ranked No. 13 in the week one Penn Monto/NFHCA Division 1 National Coaches Poll.
- No. 13 Maryland will matchup with Boston College to start the weekend on Friday at 6:00 p.m., followed by a match up with #6 Duke Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.
- Maryland enjoyed a lot of early success in the opening weekend in their match ups again Drexel and Temple to start the season off at 2-0.

- The Boston College Eagles opened their 2026 season 1-1 after earning a 3-1 win over Providence on Aug. 28 and dropping their second game, 4-3, to Albany on their first road trip of the season.
- Klara Mueffelmann and Alexandra De Cain both lead the Eagles in scoring so far in 2026 with two goals apiece. Both also pace the Eagles in points with four each.
- No. 6 Duke kickstarted its season with a 2-0 start after a commanding 7-0 win over William & Mary and a 1-0 win on the road at Richmond.
- Head coach Pam Bustin enters her 16th season at the helm for the Blue Devils in 2026 and currently holds a career record of 352-244 (.591). Between her time at Duke, Louisville and Hofstra.
- Duke's scoring efforts so far in 2026 are led by Ashley Stockton, who has netted three goals in her junior campaign and scored twice in the Blue Devils' season opener.

- For the first time in Missy Meharg's illustrious career, she is coaching the daughters of two of her former players.
- Katie Kauffman-Beach, Maryland's first Olympic field hockey player, is the mother of Terps freshman midfielder Ella Beach.
- Christine DeBow-Mitchell is the mother of Terps freshman defender Lily Mitchell.
- Both DeBow-Mitchell and Kauffman-Beach have extensive international playing experience, including appearances in the Olympics and Field Hockey World Cups.
- Beach was an All-American, while Mitchell was named Max Field Hockey's Maryland State Player of the Year during their respective senior seasons of high school.

- Head coach Missy Meharg is in her fourth decade at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program in 2026, along the way building a program rich with a winning tradition. Voted National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times, Meharg has exemplified the tradition of excellence Maryland field hockey has become known for, a program with eight National Championships and 27 conference championships, solidifying the Terrapins' position among the top programs in the nation.
- She is supported by associate head coach Kasey Tapman Asper, and assistant coaches Maddy Sposito and Dean Schiller.
