
Wrestling Opens Home Slate vs. #10 Pitt Friday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland wrestling team will compete at home for the first time in the 2019-20 season on Friday (Dec. 20) when #10 Pitt comes to the XFINITY Center Pavilion for a 7:00 match.
Maryland's dual vs. Pitt will be streamed live on BTN Plus. Fans can also keep track of the action via the team's twitter.

Last time out, Pitt shutout Drexel, 33-0 on Dec. 8 in Philadelphia. The Panthers have also recorded wins over Campbell (28-6), No. 7 Lehigh (19-18), and West Virginia (29-6). Pitt currently has six wrestlers ranked in the top-25 of their respective weight classes in the latest Intermat poll. Micky Phillippi is ranked fifth at 133 pounds, Cole Matthews is ranked No. 19 at 141 pounds, Taleb Rahmani is ranked No. 11 at 157 pounds, Jake Wentzel is ranked No. 12 at 165 pounds, Nino Bonaccorsi is ranked eighth at 184 pounds, and Demetrius Thomas is ranked ninth at heavyweight.
