LAST TIME OUT
- Maryland softball got off to its best start as a team through two weeks since 2015 after going 4-1 at the Houston Classic and improving to a 6-4 overall record.
- The Terps beat Nicholls State, Houston, and UL-Monroe in succession to win their fourth straight game going into Saturday afternoon, the team's longest win streak since opening conference play in 2018.
- Maryland beat UL-Monroe 8-0 in five innings, earning the Terps their first run-rule victory since April 10, 2016 when Maryland beat Michigan State 10-2 in six innings. Sami Main pitched a complete-game one-hit shutout against ULM, earning her first career shutout and first win of the season.
- The Terps dropped their second matchup against 2018 NCAA Regional participant Houston 4-12, but rebounded with a win over Nevada on Sunday morning to give Maryland its first four-win weekend in four years when the Terps went 4-1 at the Mary Nutter Classic Feb. 19-21, 2015.
- Freshman 2B Taylor Okada had a phenomenal weekend in the batter's box, hitting a stellar 10-18 (.556) at the Houston Classic, sending home four RBIs, scoring five of her own, and posting two doubles and a triple to add to her Houston Classic resume. Okada managed to get on base 13 times in 18 at-bats from the lead-off spot in all five games. She also recorded one stolen base on the weekend and fielded a perfect 100 percent - also helping turn Maryland's first double play of the season - despite slick rainy conditions Sunday.
- Four Terps hit home runs at the Houston Classic - Micaela Abbatine launched the first of her career, Bailey Boyd hit her second as a Terp, and Anna Kufta and Sammie Stefan both hit their second home runs of the season.
KEEPING TRACK OF THE TERPS
- Anna Kufta notched her 75th career hit, her 50th career RBI, and her 10th career home run Feb. 8-10 at the Trojan Classic in Troy, Ala.
- Sammie Stefan hit the first home run of her collegiate career on her first at-bat of the season against Murray State in the first game of the season. Her two-run bomb helped lead the Terps to a 6-3 victory.
- Amanda Brashear tallied three hits at the Houston Classic and inched closer to 100 career hits (94). Sydney Golden fanned five batters on the weekend to put her eight K's away from reaching 200 in her career (192).
- As a team, Maryland ranks fourth in batting in the Big Ten (.301) and sixth overall in the conference.
- Individually, Taylor Okada ranks third in the conference in hits (14) and second in the conference in total bases (18), while Anna Kufta ranks sixth in the conference in RBI (13).
