COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland baseball team will travel to Lafayette, La., to face the Louisiana Rajun Cajuns for three games this weekend. The Terps are riding a five-game winning streak after starting the season 0-2. All three games will be streamed on rajincajuns.com.

Maryland and Louisiana's contest on Friday will be the first game played between the two programs. Maryland last traveled to Louisiana to play three games at LSU the second weekend of the 2017 season.
Sophomore outfielder Randy Bednar has begun the season on a tear with hits in all seven of the Terps' games. His hitting streak is the longest to start a season since current Minnesota Twin LaMonte Wade started Maryland's 2015 season with a nine-game hitting streak. Bednar leads Maryland in average at .370.
Newcomer Caleb Walls has sparked the Terps from the leadoff spot with an on-base percentage of .457, second on the team behind Bednar. Walls has reached base in the first inning in four of seven games.
Maryland has scored in the first inning in six of seven games and are outscoring its opposition 12-3 in the first two innings of games this season.
The Terps used nine pitchers in its 5-4 win over VCU on Tuesday afternoon. Maryland used 14 pitchers over the course of the season in 2018 and have already thrown 17 arms this season.
Senior closer John Murphy has already picked up three saves this season and is tied for the Big Ten lead. Maryland has four total saves this year after recording seven in all of 2018.
Senior right-hander Hunter Parsons returns as Maryland's top arm after a breakout season in 2018. Parsons was lights out in his last outing against Maine, giving up no runs and allowing three hits over eight innings. Redshirt Sophomore Zach Thompson followed with his best outing of his career, striking out nine over six and two thirds innings.
