COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2019-20 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Noelle Frost from field hockey.
Goalkeeper Noelle Frost of the fourth-ranked Maryland field hockey team (6-1) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Monday for her first career weekly honor. The senior from Glenwood, Md. had the best week of her career as she anchored the Terrapins to three wins in five days, including two shutouts and a shootout win.
Against No. 6 Virginia on Friday, she tied her career-high six saves, including two saves in the two golden-goal overtime periods. With the game in a shootout, she stopped three of the Cavaliers' six shootout attempts, including the last one, to seal the victory for Maryland. In the Terps' 4-0 win over James Madison Sunday, she made four saves in her 48 minutes in goal to preserve her shutout of the year. The Terps' defense in front of Frost did not allow Towson a shot in their midweek matchup Wednesday.
