COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â The No. 12 Maryland men's basketball team looks to pick up its fourth straight win since the holiday break as it travels to Iowa City to face Iowa Friday night at 7:00 pm. The Terps have held their opponents under 60 points in each of their three Big Ten victories.
STORYLINES
• Maryland holds a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series against Iowa, including four wins in the last five meetings. Maryland has won back-to-back games at Carver Hawkeye Arena, including last season's victory on
Bruno Fernando's late tip-in with 7.8 seconds remaining.
Anthony Cowan Jr. has averaged 16.0 points and 7.0 assists in two appearances at Carver Hawkeye.
• The Terps checked in at No. 12 in the latest edition of the NET rankings, and have played the 3rd-toughest strength of schedule to this point according to NET. The Big Ten has 11 teams in the NET top-50 - the most of any conference in the country. The other power-6 conferences have the following number of top-50 teams in the NET: Pac-12 (7), Big East (6), Big 12 (5), SEC (5), ACC (4).

Anthony Cowan Jr. has scored at least 16 points in nine of his last 11 games, and at least 20 points in five of those games. Cowan currently leads the Big Ten in both free throws made (78) and attempted (100). He was named to the Wooden Award top-25 list Wednesday.
• The Terrapins are 11-0 when scoring at least 70 points, and have been credited for their stifling defense this year. Maryland has held its opponent under 40-percent shooting in all three B1G wins.

Anthony Cowan Jr. (1,625 pts) passed Ernie Graham for 14th on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 20 points against Ohio State, and next has Melo Trimble (1,658) in his sights. The Bowie, Md., native is 7th all-time in assists (499) and will become the seventh player in program history to reach 500 with his first helper at Iowa. Cowan is one of three players in program history with 1,600 points and 450 assists (Greivis Vasquez, John Lucas).
