MOUNT STORYLINES
Dominant at home
- Maryland has been dominant at home since the start of the 2017-18 season, collecting a 48-7 (.873) overall record. The program's 48 wins during that span are the most in the Big Ten Conference. The Terps are also 54-6 (.900) in non-conference home games over the last seven seasons, including 10 straight wins dating back to 2018.
tERPS SHOOT LIGHTS OUT TO SINK NAVY
- Maryland shot the lights out of the ball in its 82-52 victory over Navy Friday afternoon, making 30-of-44 shots (.682). It was the highest field goal percentage in the 19-year history of XFINITY Center, and Maryland's highest overall since shooting 73.9% against Wake Forest on Jan. 28, 1986.
10 YEARS OF TURGEON
- Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon is set to begin his 10th season at the helm for the Terrapins, having led the program to more than 20 wins in five of the last six seasons. Turgeon's .652 winning percentage in Big Ten Conference play ranks sixth all-time among coaches with at least 50 wins, trailing only Bo Ryan, Bob Knight, Tom Izzo and Thad Matta.
EYES ON AYALA
- Junior Eric Ayala is shooting an impressive 75-percent from the field (12-of-16), including 70-percent (7-of-10) from beyond the arc. It's a great sign for the Wilmington native who is looking to bounce back from a sophomore season in which he shot 27% from outside following a freshman season in which he shot 40.6%
SERIES HISTORY
- Sunday's matchup marks the ninth meeting all-time between Maryland and Mount St. Mary's, with the Terps winning all eight previous games. The schools last met on Nov. 13, 2015, when the preseason No. 3 Terps made their much-anticipated debut and won, 80-56, on 16 points from Jake Layman and 14 from Melo Trimble.
