COLLEGE PARK, Md. -  Fresh off a top-10 road victory against No. 6 Wisconsin, the Maryland men's basketball team closes out 2020 on New Year's Eve as it welcomes No. 16 Michigan to College Park. The Terps are seeking back-to-back wins against top-25 opponents in consecutive games for the first time since 2006-07, when they defeated No. 5 UNC and No. 14 Duke.  The game will air on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. and will also be broadcasted live on the Maryland Sports Radio Network.Â

DONTA IS DEALING
- Sophomore Donta Scott has reached double-figures in 8-of-9 games and leads the team in rebounds (6.9) for the season. Over his last seven games, the Philadelphia native is averaging 14.3 points and shooting 63-percent from the field. He is also shooting 50-percent from beyond the 3-point line during that span.
MARYLAND TUMBLES TOP-TEN TEAM

Maryland's 70-64 defeat of No. 6 Wisconsin Monday evening was its first win against a top-10 team since 2016 (No. 3 Iowa) and its first on the road since 2008 (at No. 1 UNC). The Terps shot a remarkable 64-percent in the second half to defeat Wisconsin, including 17 second half points from junior guard Eric Ayala.

Maryland is currently in the midst of a difficult 5-game stretch which includes matchups against: No. 6 Wisconsin, No. 16 Michigan, Indiana (receiving votes), No. 10 Iowa and No. 15 Illinois. Six of Maryland's next seven games are against teams ranked or receiving votes.
ELECTRIC AYALA
- Junior Eric Ayala scored a career-high 23 points in the Terps' win over La Salle on Dec. 22, knocking down 13-of-15 free throw attempts. It was the most free throw attempts in a game for a Terrapin since Melo Trimble attempted 15 against Northwestern in 2017. Ayala, who averaged just 8.6 points through his first two seasons, is currently averaging a team-high 14.4 points/g.
